How often does your school break boards or bricks and do you charge extra for the materials or is it part of there tuition?

Hi, Adam.

We don't do a lot of board breakings but do it on occasion. We have the students bring their own boards so if they want to break just one or 20 boards, they can do so without the necessary expense of the school (which is really the expense of everybody else).

We do board breaking on belt tests. They bring their own boards too.  We just make sure it hasn't been "baked" in the oven!

we dont' break bricks but we do break boards. Similar to Scott's post but for belt testing, the test fees include the boards.  After all, that's part of the test.

I've never tried breaking bricks.  If the wolf can't blow the piggy house made of bricks, probably not a good idea to destroy it with bare hands.

Ever try Re-Breakables?  Great for training.

What size boards do you use?

Haven't those rebreakable boards, but I've had some mixed reviews. Some say it's too easy and some says it's too hard, not like like the regular pines.  But I guess it just depends on what you get.

In our school, we use 12x12 pine.

We use 10x12x1" pine for testings and demos, rebreakables for practice.  I'm going to bricks for myself, I would like to get into power breaking.....we'll see.:)

I'm just an intermediate rank.  We have to break boards during testing but bricks are optional.  I cant really see myself breaking bricks for fun either  :)
