When UFC first started, a lot of fights are ending up on the ground. When grappling arts people would take a stand-up guy, the stand-up guys usually don't stand a chance.

But now that stand-up competitors are well versed with ground fighting, most fights I see are now becoming a stand-up fight. If this is the case, where do you think the MMA fighting style is going in the next 5 years?

I think most figters will be equally skilled in both stand up and ground fighting. In about 2-5years, anyone who fights in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) thinking ground fighting or stand up fighting is better will be in shock once they are in the ring. The main difference between these fighters will be stamina, speed, power, and personal style.

Once people have the skill that Kicker is talking about, now it will be a matter of size, strength, and experience.

I love watching UFC!

i think its posible that a good kick boxer or maby somone with GOOD kung fu might show us somthing, there are already more straght mui thi fughters coming ito mma. i i have noticed that side kicks and front kicke get  throgh there strratigy cause there not realy usd to it. i think maby a good tea kwan do fighter stands a chance. but i agree that mma is largely going to a general stand up fight more so
