Famous Boat Races of Kerala

A [url=http://www.indiadestinationtours.com]Kerala Tourism[/url] may include a performance of boat races. For ages, Keralites have cherished a reverential attitude to rivers. When the weather becomes delightfully pleasant and the nature exults in her full glory, it is the apt time for Keralites to hold the Jalotsavam (water - carnivals).
Boat race is in a way a display of physical might of the people who forget their differences in partaking in this sport. The most famous is the Aranmula Snake Boat Race conducted on the Uthrittathi day of Chingom (August-September). The carnival is held to commemorate the crossing of the river by Lord Krishna on that day. The deity is supposed to be in all the boats that take part in the carnival and all of them are expected to arrive at their destination simultaneously.
There is thus no element of competition in the Aranmula Boat Race as in other regattas held in this district and elsewhere. The race is not conducted to win any trophy or prize. The crew regard the occasion as one for rejoicing and merry-making and cheerfully row up and down the river to the tune of songs.
Even though the festival is of Hindu origin and is associated with the Parthasarathy Temple, it is an all-community affair and participants include members of all classes and communities living in and around Aranmula.

Bubba's new truck

BUBBA'S NEW TRUCK

One day, Jimmy Joe was walking down Main Street when he saw his buddy Bubba driving a brand new pickup.

Bubba pulled up to him with a wide grin.

"Bubba, where'd you get that truck??"

"Bobby Sue gave it to me" Bubba replied.

"She gave it to you? ?

I knew she was kinda sweet on ya, but a new truck??"

"Well, Jimmy Joe, let me tell you what happened. We were driving out on County Road 6, in the middle of nowhere. Bobby Sue pulled off the road, put the truck in 4-wheel drive, and headed into the woods. She parked the truck, got out, threw off all her clothes and said,

"Bubba, take whatever you want!!"

"So I took the truck!"

"Bubba, you're a smart man! Them clothes woulda never fit you!"

Enraged soccer fan karate kicks 8-year-old player

It appears that watching 8-year-olds play soccer proved just a little too frustrating for one German man, who, after one player committed a foul, ran onto the field and attacked the offender with a karate kick.

Fortunately the other spectators were quick to react, restraining the nut job before he could show off any additional martial arts skills.

But why did he fly off the handle? According to a police spokesman, "It seems likely the man was related to the player who was fouled, but it's not entirely clear at this point"

So, it's possible that this man is just enraged at the sorry state of Germany's soccer-playing youth, and this one, egregious trespass was the straw that broke the camel's back. To be honest, this is the explanation I'm hoping for.

The boy was bruised, and suffered grazes, but was otherwise unharmed. Maybe he'll think twice about that next slide tackle, though.

A have a few sore knees. I have a new 2nd Dan who transfered in from another school and we needed to find out what each other knew....now my knees are sore and he's got a couple of jammed toes.
