Man! I've been out for a week and you guys are killing each other already!  LOL

Agreed with Scott. Anyone who is learning the martial arts arts are students.  The colors of the belt and stripes on them are nothing more than a symbol of the time they spent studying.  Nothing to do with skills, championships, or other hooplas some people come up with.

That really depends on the school.  Students may think they are getting good education, but main wasting their money.  I've seen a few tkd and karate schools where instructors talk big but can't kick above their waste, REALLY bad form, tries to sell more school stuff in class than actual teaching, and much more.  Whew!  Do not get me started!!!  <breathing> <breathing>  Ok, I feel better now.

Give us your opinion. What does it mean to you?

It really means nothing other than to hold your pants up. Too many people put too much emphazised on Black Belt rank. Traditionaly, the rank came about so that Kano ( founder of Judo) needed a way to distinguish his seniors from the junior students. And us north american just found a way to make such a big deal out of it !
